What it does

Bitmymoney is a Dutch account service for buying, selling and swapping Bitcoin and Ethereum, with a separate gold offering. It targets customers in the Netherlands and Belgium who want the provider to handle asset storage. The website and app show balances, price notifications and news; external transfers have narrower rules.

An account for holding and selling

Applicants must be at least 18, have legal capacity and fall outside the US-person definition in Bitmymoney's terms. Identity verification is required before buying or selling. Transaction limits depend on verification and account checks; the published daily limits run over a rolling 24 hours rather than resetting at midnight.

To sell, choose Verkopen beside the asset. The displayed price refreshes every 30 seconds. Moving to confirmation gives you ten minutes to accept the quoted transaction. Euro proceeds go only to your own bank account, normally within two working days.

The app can notify you when an asset reaches a selected price.

Costs

Holding an account and its assets is free. The cost guide describes approximately 1% for buying, selling or swapping, with the actual rate depending on market conditions. It also lists a €0.39 iDEAL payment charge and €0.10 for the bank transfer on a sale. Check the final quote because these components are separate.

Moving Bitcoin to your own wallet

External network sending is available through the website and only for Bitcoin. Ethereum and gold cannot be transferred out this way.

To add a Bitcoin destination, you need verified identity and a Netherlands or Belgium address, Bitcoin bought at Bitmymoney, and the required source-of-funds information. You must prove wallet ownership by signing a message and completing a camera-based liveness check. Support reviews address requests on working days. The wallet must support message signing.

Transfer status appears in the transaction overview, with a link to the blockchain record. Network costs are shown on the sending screen.

Strengths

  • Account storage and price notifications have no separate account charge
  • The sale confirmation has a stated validity window and bank payout route

Watch out for

  • External network withdrawals are limited to Bitcoin through the website
  • Adding a withdrawal address requires wallet signing, a liveness check and support review

Best for

  • Eligible Dutch or Belgian customers who want provider-held Bitcoin and Ethereum
  • People comparing a euro sale with a transfer to their own Bitcoin wallet
