What it does
DaVinci Resolve combines timeline editing, colour correction, Fusion effects and Fairlight audio tools in one application.
Keep a multistage project together: organise media, cut the timeline, build Fusion effects, grade on Color, finish audio in Fairlight and export through Deliver. Proxies provide lighter working media when full-resolution footage is demanding. Collaboration also needs shared media access, not just access to a project library.
The inspected edition comparison describes Free working with virtually all 8-bit formats up to 60 fps and UHD 3840 × 2160. Studio adds higher-end format/frame-rate support and tools such as noise reduction and text-based editing. Match the actual footage and delivery requirement to the edition before beginning a project.
