What it does
Blendkit, formerly BlenderKit, provides models, materials, HDRIs, scenes and other 3D resources. It offers free and full-library plans and Blender integration.
Blendkit, formerly BlenderKit, puts an asset library inside Blender. Install its ZIP through Blender's extension controls, open the Blendkit panel in the 3D Viewport, search for an asset and drag it into the scene. The catalogue spans models, materials, HDRIs, scenes, brushes, node groups, printables and add-ons.
Browsing controls can narrow a model by polygon count, texture resolution, rigging or animation. Procedural and texture-based materials have separate filters. The add-on requires Blender 3.0 or later and recommends a current LTS release; integrations for Godot, Maya, Rhino and Unreal are experimental.
A selection is available without an account. Registering adds bookmarks and ratings, while Full and Business subscriptions expand access and private storage. Assets carry either CC0 or the royalty-free licence. Both permit commercial higher-level work without required credit, but royalty-free models cannot be resold as models, even after modification or inclusion in a marketplace asset pack.
Strengths
- Search and drag-and-drop placement happen inside Blender.
- Filters expose geometry, texture, rigging and animation characteristics.
- The free selection can be used without an account.
Watch out for
- Royalty-free assets cannot be resold as models or marketplace asset-pack contents.
- Integrations beyond Blender are marked experimental.
Best for
- Blender artists assembling scenes
- Teams choosing licensed models and materials
