What it does
BPI provides app and browser access to Philippine account settings, statements, bills and transfers. Its #SaveUp savings account opens through the app with PHP 1 and has no maintaining balance requirement. Applicants must be at least 18, live in the Philippines and meet BPI's identity and contact requirements.
A savings account without a maintaining-balance fee
#SaveUp has a PHP 1 initial deposit and no maintaining-balance fee. Until BPI finishes verifying the account, its maximum balance is PHP 30,000. A physical debit card is optional and costs PHP 200 when requested at a branch.
Cash deposits through a BPI cash accept machine are free. Counter cash deposits into #SaveUp cost PHP 50 below PHP 50,000, with higher charges for larger deposits.
To apply, open the BPI app and choose Create a new account, then No, open a deposit account. Enter your nationality and contact details, complete the verification-code checks and follow the identity and selfie steps. You need a Philippine government-issued ID, a local mobile number and an email address. The digital route excludes applicants who are reportable under US FATCA tax rules.
Keep statements and recognizable account names
- Open More → Services → My Statements in the app. In the browser, start from Menu → More → Services.
- Select the account and date range.
- Download the statement to the device's file storage.
For a clearer account label, use More → Settings → Manage Accounts, authenticate with Mobile Key and select the account's pencil icon. This changes only the name you see, leaving the bank's actual account record intact.
