What it does

BrandMentions tracks brand and topic terms across supported web and social sources, organizing results into separate client projects. It offers a seven-day trial followed by a paid subscription; Starter bills quarterly or annually, while higher plans also offer monthly billing.

BrandMentions separates three things that are easy to confuse: a keyword defines what to track, a mention is a matching result, and a project groups related keywords. An agency can keep each client's project independent while tracking the client's name, product and campaign terms together.

Plan Keywords Mentions per month Users Updates
Starter 5 5,000 1 Daily
Pro 20 30,000 2 Hourly
Expert 50 75,000 10 Real-time

A weekly coverage report and an incident-response desk therefore need different plans even when they monitor the same company.

Standard reports retain BrandMentions branding. Expert adds reports carrying only the agency's branding, while Enterprise includes an API for connecting other software and custom historical-data arrangements. Reaching a mention limit prompts an upgrade discussion rather than an unexpected overage charge.

Registration asks for a full name, work email, a password of at least eight characters and postal details. The seven-day trial then converts to the chosen subscription: existing payment details are charged, or the account asks you to supply them. Starter is billed quarterly or annually; Pro and Expert offer monthly and annual terms. Tax may be added. Cancel before the trial converts if you do not want to continue.

Strengths

  • Projects preserve separate monitoring scopes for clients or brands
  • Report branding and update frequency can vary with each client's needs

Watch out for

  • Starter's updates are daily rather than continuous
  • White-label reports and API access require the applicable higher package
  • Keyword and mention allowances bound each plan

Best for

  • Agencies producing defined brand-coverage reports for several clients
