What it does

Breathe provides UK businesses with employee records, leave requests and onboarding tasks, plus optional modules for areas such as learning, recruitment and expenses. Starters can access documents before day one, with tasks adapted to their role, department or location. Plans are priced per business by staff count, and a 14-day trial includes the add-on modules.

Breathe's onboarding workflow begins after job acceptance and can continue to probation review. Give the starter early access to the onboarding portal, include the documents they need, and assign the internal preparation tasks. Task sequences can differ by role, department or location.

The core HR tools then handle employee records and leave requests. The Micro plan covers one to ten people at GBP 24 per business per month, excluding VAT. Larger teams use higher headcount bands. Annual billing is available, but the core annual discount does not extend to add-ons.

The fourteen-day trial starts without a card. Its registration form asks for the business and contact details and a password, and limits this service to UK businesses. Additional modules are enabled during the trial and become chargeable afterward if retained; turn off the ones the company does not want to keep.

Strengths

  • Onboarding tasks can be tailored to role, department and location
  • Headcount bands price the core subscription per business

Watch out for

  • This signup route is limited to UK businesses
  • Trial-enabled add-ons become chargeable if retained

Best for

  • UK small businesses coordinating leave, employee records and onboarding
