What it does
BSDEX is a digital asset trading venue in the Börse Stuttgart group. Its order books match crypto buyers and sellers under published rules. A browser trading screen combines charts, market depth and order entry, with separate companies handling custody, liquidity provision and euro banking.
Who can open the retail account?
BSDEX requires a German residence and a personal German bank account, European Economic Area (EEA) nationality, and an age of at least 18. Retail use must be private and for your own account, with no current US tax liability.
Registration is followed by video identification and funding. You do not need to bring an external crypto wallet to begin: the account includes the storage arrangements needed for trading. BSDEX remains separate from the group's BISON brokerage product.
Orders and the browser workspace
The web-only Advanced Chart Tool includes TradingView charts, drawing and indicator tools, an order book, recent trades, order entry and open or closed orders.
For most orders, enter the size in the cryptocurrency. A market buy instead takes the amount in euros. The available types are market, limit and stop orders. Order-book priority follows price and then arrival time, with market orders receiving priority.
A submitted order cannot be edited in place. Delete it and enter a replacement to change its parameters. An order can remain valid until deletion, for no more than 360 calendar days. Unexecutable residual amounts from market orders are removed automatically.
Maker and taker charges
An order that rests in the book before execution pays the 0.20% maker rate. An order that immediately trades against an existing order pays 0.35% as a taker. The minimum transaction charge is €0.01 per order.
The fee page lists no extra BSDEX charge for transferring or storing euros and crypto. This does not remove blockchain costs you incur when sending from a personal wallet.
Before transferring crypto
Wallet ownership checks apply when transfers exceed €1,000 in total, including smaller transfers that cross that aggregate amount. BSDEX prompts you when verification is needed.
Depending on the asset and wallet, you prove control with a signed message or a small specified test transfer. The test amount is credited to the BSDEX account, while you pay its blockchain fee. Transfers requiring this check currently use the web interface. Prepare wallet access before starting a transfer, since verification can involve additional manual review.
Strengths
- The browser workspace brings charts, order depth and order status together
- Wallet-ownership instructions explain both signing and test-transfer methods
Watch out for
- Changing an order requires deleting and recreating it
- Transfers that need wallet-ownership verification currently require the website
Best for
- Adult EEA nationals living in Germany with a German bank account
- Crypto traders who want an order book and explicit maker or taker pricing
