What it does
BSL SignBank provides BSL dictionary videos, regional variations, fingerspelling material and searches based on visual sign features.
Searching by handshape or location is valuable when you can describe a sign but do not know its English equivalent. Topic routes cover areas such as numbers, colours and places, with quizzes for further practice. Regional variations also help explain why two signers may use different signs for the same idea.
Strengths
- Visual sign features offer a search route beyond English words.
