What it does
BTC Markets offers AUD-funded crypto trading through simple and advanced mobile orders. Its account view combines order status, transaction history, portfolio value and cost-basis tracking.
BTC Markets gives Australian traders separate views for placing orders and tracking what they own. A watchlist follows chosen markets without adding them to the portfolio. The portfolio view adds cost basis and historical performance to current holdings, while order history shows transactions still waiting to fill.
Accounts normally require Australian residence and a minimum age of 18. Overseas users need specific approval from BTC Markets. You can browse market information without signing in, but deposits, withdrawals and trades require a verified account. The iPhone app is distributed through the Australian App Store. Minimum versions are iOS 17 and Android 8.
To place a mobile order:
- Fund the account through an available AUD deposit route, such as PayID or bank account details, or deposit supported crypto.
- Open Buy/Sell and tap the market name near the top to choose the pair.
- Use the simple form for an immediate purchase, or open Advanced and select Market, Limit or Stop Limit. A stop-limit order creates a limit order only after its trigger is reached.
- Enter the amount and any required prices, inspect the review screen and select Confirm. The result can be fully or partially matched.
Orders under the Account tab shows order history, with Open filtering unfinished orders. Transaction history shows completed account activity. A trigger or limit controls an order condition, not the future value of the asset; crypto losses remain possible.
Advanced Trade fees for AUD and USDT markets start at 0.85% for the first A$500 of rolling 30-day volume, then fall through volume tiers. BTC-denominated pairs use a separate schedule: a 0.05% rebate for orders that add to the order book and a 0.20% charge for orders that trade against an available order. Those pairs do not contribute to the AUD/USDT volume calculation.
Quick Buy/Sell instead incorporates a variable spread into its quoted price, without an additional trading fee. Compare the actual receiving amount when choosing a purchase route. The deposit and withdrawal table lists AUD as free, while crypto withdrawal costs vary by asset. In-app withdrawals also require two-factor authentication, an extra verification code in addition to the login.
