What it does
BudgetSheet imports connected account transactions and balances into Google Sheets for a personal budget or cash-flow dashboard. It supplies the feed while leaving formulas, charts and layout to the spreadsheet owner. A Google account is required, and the service becomes paid after a 15-day trial with one bank connection.
Install the add-on, then open Extensions > BudgetSheet > Setup > Setup Everything. Link a supported account through Link New Bank Account. In Fetch Latest Bank Transactions, choose the start and end dates and click Fetch Transactions; the rows appear in BSA_Transactions.
Use those rows as input to a category summary or monthly income-versus-expense chart. An existing household workbook can keep its own structure, or you can add the optional BSA_Budget sheet for a calendar-year budget. Once an account is linked, open Autofetch settings and select Enable to import new activity once a day.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual price | Linked accounts | Investment holdings and manual CSV import |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | US$6 | US$59 | Up to 5 | Not included |
| Pro | US$8 | US$79 | Up to 30 | Included |
| Business | US$20 | US$149 | Up to 100 | Included |
The trial lasts 15 days, allows one bank connection and does not require a credit card. For older statements or accounts without a live connection, Pro and Business include Sheet Tools > Manual Import. Upload the bank's CSV, review its column mapping and choose whether to keep its categories or have transactions categorized during import.
Strengths
- Imported rows retain both a readable merchant name and the full bank-statement description
- Canceling the subscription does not lock access to data already in your spreadsheet
Watch out for
- Live bank connections are limited to supported US and Canadian institutions through Plaid
- Autofetch processes up to 30 days at a time, so a long gap can take several daily runs to catch up
Best for
- People extending a Google Sheets household budget with bank transaction feeds
