What it does
BudgetView imports bank statements into a personal budget organized around income, fixed costs, variable spending, savings and extras. It shows expected account balances in the weeks and months ahead. The base application is free, with downloads for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Import an OFX, QIF or CSV statement, then classify transactions into the budget's envelopes. BudgetView uses previous classifications for later imports and ignores duplicate operations.
The forward balance view connects those records to the budget still ahead. If a transaction belongs to a different budget month, it can be moved to the previous or following month without changing the bank statement. Unused envelope balances can also carry forward.
A mixed purchase can be divided among envelopes. Filters narrow the transaction list by account, envelope or month, and text search finds an entry by its label. The application can display its interface in French or English.
Download the installer for your computer and open it from Downloads. A Java package is also offered for Linux, Mac and Windows. The free base version covers statement imports, manual entries and the household budget.
