What it does
Bulma is a free, open-source CSS framework offering ready-to-use frontend components. Its current feature set includes Flexbox, Grid, CSS variables, themes and dark-mode support.
Bulma styles ordinary HTML with reusable classes for layouts, forms, navigation and other interface elements. Start with its HTML template and a precompiled CSS file, or use the Sass files when you want to customize the build. The responsive viewport tag is required for the intended mobile layout.
Classes can be combined to express a control’s appearance: button is-primary is-large creates a large primary button. CSS variables and themes provide shared colours and spacing, and a data-theme="dark" wrapper applies a dark theme to its contents.
Bulma itself contains no JavaScript. Its modal illustrates the boundary: is-active shows the modal, and removing that class hides it. The documentation includes an optional JavaScript example that connects a trigger to a modal ID and adds close and Escape handlers. You can use that example or wire the state into your own application.
The CSS framework is free under MIT and requires no account to download or include. Website content has a separate licence.
