What it does

Adobe Marketo Engage coordinates B2B email, audience segments, nurture programs and sales connections. Smart Campaigns can run on a schedule or respond to events; pricing is quoted, and an administrator grants staff access to the subscription.

Choose a Batch Smart Campaign for a scheduled audience, such as a product update for an opted-in segment. Choose a Trigger Smart Campaign for an event, such as a relevant email interaction. Adding any trigger makes the campaign event-driven, and multiple triggers use an either/or relationship: any one can start its actions.

Qualification limits then govern repeat participation. The default sends a person through once, with options for every occurrence or an elapsed interval. A day means twenty-four hours, and a month means thirty days, rather than resetting at a calendar boundary. Communication limits are not applied to Smart Campaigns by default, so configure their use alongside qualification before enabling repeated messages.

Request a quote around the audience, connections and staff access required:

Package Included users Daily API calls
Growth 10 20,000
Select 25 50,000
Prime 25 50,000
Ultimate 25 50,000

Other package features differ, so user and API capacity are only part of the choice. A CRM integration coordinates campaign and sales data with the connected CRM.

For a new colleague, an administrator opens Marketo Engage in Adobe Admin Console, selects the subscription and uses Users, Add User. Assign a product profile before saving. New users receive the default Standard User role in the default workspace; adjust their roles in Marketo to match the work they need to do.

Strengths

  • Scheduled audience campaigns and event-driven campaigns serve distinct jobs
  • Repeat qualification can be limited by person and elapsed interval

Watch out for

  • Multiple triggers match on any trigger rather than requiring all of them
  • Smart Campaign communication limits need explicit configuration

Best for

  • B2B marketing operations teams coordinating nurture and event-driven communication with sales
