What it does

BUSY combines ledgers, vouchers and financial reports with inventory and GST accounting for Indian businesses. The range includes free BUSY Express, perpetual BUSY 21 licences and BUSY Magic subscriptions. GST and connected services depend on the edition.

A wholesaler can follow a purchase from its stock entry to the supplier account and then investigate a GST mismatch. BUSY compares purchase invoices with GSTR-2B, separates missing and mismatched entries, and filters differences by supplier, tax identification number or invoice. Reports can be exported for the accountant to review.

Choose the licence as well as the edition

The following prices are in Indian rupees; paid prices exclude GST.

Product Price Billing
BUSY Express Free Continuing basic accounting
BUSY 21 Basic ₹11,000 Perpetual licence
BUSY 21 Standard ₹16,500 Perpetual licence
BUSY 21 Enterprise ₹22,000 Perpetual licence
BUSY Magic Start ₹5,000 360 days
BUSY Magic Smart ₹8,000 360 days
BUSY Magic Power ₹12,000 360 days
BUSY Magic Power+ ₹50,000 360 days

BUSY 21 Standard adds GST features to Basic; Enterprise adds multi-branch work. Magic Start covers non-GST accounting, while Smart adds GST functions. Magic expires into Demo Mode. A BUSY 21 licence remains usable when its BLS support term expires, but updates, support and connected services stop. Cloud access costs extra. A separate 15-day trial is available.

Clear a bank entry in the desktop workflow

  1. In Administration > Configurations > Feature/Options > Accounts, enable Bank Reconciliation and save.
  2. Open Display > Bank Reconciliation > Show Uncleared Entries.
  3. Select the bank and date range, locate the transaction and press F4.
  4. Enter the clearing date from the statement and confirm.

Magic lists its new bank reconciliation feature as upcoming, so do not assume the same facility is available in that subscription.

For initial desktop setup, install the software from Downloads, open Company > Create Company, enter the business details and save. Company username and password authentication is optional in this local setup. Mobile access is a separate part of the range and provides sales, purchases, stock and receivables reports.

Strengths

  • GST comparison can separate missing invoices from value or tax mismatches
  • Mobile reports cover sales, purchases, stock and unpaid balances

Watch out for

  • Magic subscriptions switch to Demo Mode after expiry
  • BUSY 21 updates and connected services require active BLS support
  • Magic's bank reconciliation feature is still marked upcoming

Best for

  • Indian wholesalers and trading businesses keeping stock, supplier balances and GST records together
