What it does
Bybit offers spot, derivatives and options markets through a common V5 API, a connection for other trading software. Its website provides market and limit orders, while account integrations can separate orders, positions, balances and market data by product category.
Selecting and managing a spot trade
On the website, choose a pair from the market selector at the upper left. Use the Spot tab in the order area to choose Buy or Sell. A market buy defaults to the amount of money to spend; a market sell defaults to the asset quantity. The Order by Value and Order by Qty choices let you change that input.
A limit order adds the price you are prepared to accept. Pending orders appear in Open Orders, where the pencil icon can edit their price or quantity.
Check the scope before canceling several orders. All Markets includes orders across pairs, and the Instrument filter can restrict the view to Spot Only. Cancel All can therefore affect more than the pair currently displayed on the chart.
V5 and shared collateral
Bybit V5 identifies spot, linear contracts, inverse contracts and options through a product category. Market data, orders, positions, accounts and assets have separate modules within that interface.
Its unified account can combine collateral across supported products. In Bybit's example, a loss settled in an asset the account does not hold creates debt against other collateral, with interest charged hourly. That borrowing behavior matters when moving from an ordinary spot integration to a shared-margin account.
Charges depend on the market
The base VIP 0 crypto spot rate is 0.10% for both makers and takers. Fiat spot markets have a different schedule: the initial tier below 100,000 in 30-day volume lists 0.15% maker and 0.20% taker fees. Region, pair and account tier can change the applicable rate, so check My Fee Rate.
Spot charges apply to completed quantities and are taken in the asset bought. An unfilled order, or its canceled unfilled remainder, has no spot trading fee.
Account checks come before trading
Standard identity verification is mandatory for Bybit's services, and applicants under 18 are ineligible. This level includes identity assessment and proof of identity; higher verification levels add address or further checks. Subaccounts rely on the main account's verification.
The exclusions include the US, Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore, among other places. Bybit's identity FAQ also applies restrictions by nationality, so residence alone does not settle eligibility. Consult the current restricted-country page for your account entity before completing registration.
