What it does
Government of Canada Jobs is the federal government’s recruitment starting point. It links vacancies, GC Jobs accounts, application guidance and recruitment programmes with separate routes for students, military members, veterans and current public servants.
A general federal vacancy search and a specific recruitment programme are different entry points. The student route includes the Federal Student Work Experience Program, while post-secondary recruitment and policy-leader programmes have their own information. Follow the route that fits the intended application before preparing an account.
The service also provides employment-equity and self-declaration information, including disability and Indigenous recruitment resources. These explain available processes rather than an automatic entitlement to an appointment. Second-language self-assessment tests help investigate likely readiness before the formal testing process. Pay information and public-servant resources support comparisons and internal career decisions. Use the application guidance alongside the actual vacancy, keeping its closing date, eligibility and required evidence together. The GC Jobs sign-in route is the place to continue an account-dependent task.
