What it does
Capital.com offers CFD platforms for web and mobile, with market analysis, chart integrations and developer access. Watchlists and asset-specific news help organize research; chart controls set alerts and manage positions. A free demo uses virtual money and has no expiry.
Capital.com groups share, currency, commodity and other markets as CFD contracts. The position tracks the underlying price without giving ownership of that asset, and leverage can increase losses. On the web platform, custom watchlists bring selected markets together; charts add price alerts, stop-loss and take-profit controls. An ordinary stop can execute at a different price during a market gap.
The demo has live prices and virtual funds, with no time limit. Its execution and liquidity can differ from a funded account. Developers can use a demo account with the public API: enable two-factor authentication, then open Settings, API integrations and Generate new key. The documentation separates demo and live base addresses and supports price history, orders and account activity.
Costs beyond commission
The international fee schedule charges no trading commission, but spreads vary with the market. Overnight funding depends on the instrument and position; most 1:1 positions are exempt, with named market exceptions. Retail currency conversion uses a 0.7% markup. A guaranteed stop has a premium when triggered, shown on the deal ticket before opening the position.
Applicants must be 18 or older, satisfy local requirements and complete verification. If their country is absent during registration, the service is unavailable there. Funding must come from the account holder, rather than a third party.
