What it does
Capture2Text uses a keyboard shortcut to recognize text from part of the screen and sends the result to the clipboard by default.
Select the OCR language, use the capture shortcut to frame screen text, then check the clipboard result. Line and enclosed-bubble modes handle different layouts; Chinese/Japanese have orientation controls. Optional logging, replacements and post-capture executables extend output. The CLI accepts image files or a screen rectangle and writes to a file or standard output, with an append option. Translation requires internet access. The free GPL application's published compatibility list covers Windows 7, 8/8.1 and 10.
