What it does

Carbon DeFi creates token orders at a chosen price or within a price range. Linked buy and sell orders can reuse each other's proceeds. Strategies use supported tokens and are adjusted through wallet transactions, with separate buy and sell budgets.

Carbon exposes separately controlled buy and sell liquidity. A Limit Order sets one price; a Range Order spreads execution across a price interval. Recurring Order links two sides so that proceeds from one fund the other. You can initially fund just one side.

In the strategy form, choose the Buy or Sell token and the With token used to express its price. Select the strategy type, enter the buy range and budget, then the sell range and budget. Approve token spending if required and select Create Strategy to sign in the wallet.

The strategy appears under Strategies. Manage contains price editing, deposits, withdrawals, pausing and deletion. Adjusting prices does not require withdrawing and recreating the whole strategy. Filled portions stay executed even if the market reverses, including partial fills.

Maker orders currently have no trading or network fee when another trader fills them. Creation and management still involve wallet transactions. Traders taking existing orders pay a protocol percentage; some chains also use an aggregator route with a 0.25% charge. These are different sides of the exchange, so zero maker execution fees do not mean every interaction is free.

Rebasing tokens and tokens that charge a transfer fee are excluded. Price conditions can leave an order waiting, and an automated cycle cannot ensure a profit.

Strengths

  • Buy and sell sides have separate budgets and prices
  • Proceeds automatically fund the linked recurring order
  • Strategies can be paused or repriced without recreation

Watch out for

  • Rebasing and transfer-fee tokens are unsupported
  • Filled portions are irreversible even if prices retrace
  • Maker execution and taker swaps have different cost rules

Best for

  • Wallet users setting independent buy and sell conditions for a token pair
