What it does

Cashfree Payments provides payment gateways, links, forms, subscriptions and payouts for India-focused businesses. Merchants can collect a single order without building checkout or connect recurring billing to UPI Autopay, cards and bank mandates. Live use requires business, identity and bank-account verification.

Cashfree's Payment Links are useful when an order begins in a message, invoice or phone conversation. Open Payment Links Dashboard, choose All and Create Payment Link, then select All payment methods or Only UPI. Add the payment reason, amount and customer details before choosing Create & Send. Links can have an expiry, reminders and, where supported, partial payments. A UPI-only link has a ₹100,000 collection limit and does not allow partial payments.

Payment Forms serve a different purpose: they can gather customer information alongside a fixed or flexible payment amount. In Payment Gateway Dashboard, open Payment Forms and Create Payment Form, define the amount fields and validity, and personalize the URL before sharing it. Recurring collection uses the separate Subscriptions product, with UPI Autopay, card instructions and bank mandates.

The current introductory offer

The campaign terms waive platform fees on up to ₹2,000,000 of cumulative eligible volume for new merchants joining from 21 July 2026 and completing activation. It ends by 31 March 2027; standard charging then becomes 1.95% plus tax.

Only qualifying domestic gateway transactions count. International payments, subscriptions, premium card categories and instalment methods are excluded. Goods and Services Tax still applies, calculated on the standard 1.95% fee. Fair-use rules can withdraw the benefit early.

Account activation requires a business profile, entity-specific documents and bank verification. The Indian onboarding process supports unregistered individuals and proprietors as well as registered entities. For an individual, the receiving bank account must be in the owner's name; registered businesses also verify their authorized signatory and relevant owners. The sandbox allows simulated payments before activation.

Strengths

  • Offers no-code payment links and forms
  • Supports several recurring-payment methods
  • Payment-link reports include payment status and the bank settlement reference

Watch out for

  • UPI-only payment links do not accept partial payments
  • The introductory fee waiver excludes several methods and still incurs tax on the standard fee

Best for

  • India-focused businesses comparing hosted and integrated collection
  • Merchants taking orders through messages or collecting information through payment forms
