What it does
Catalant connects independent consultants and boutique firms with client projects. The process moves from background verification and an expert profile to a pitch, client interview, proposal and documented project agreement.
A pitch explains both relevant experience and a proposed approach to the client’s problem. After an interview clarifies the scope, the proposal sets out deliverables, timing and how the work will be done. Catalant’s examples span strategy, finance, operations, organisation, marketing and digital work.
The project agreement records the approach, timeline, deliverables and fees, with the platform retaining it for reference. Catalant provides help with contracting and payment through its Expert Marketplace. Consultants can also choose to make an expert profile public and discoverable through search engines. Projects can last weeks or months and may extend, making the agreed scope more useful than a generic description of a gig. Present a specific capability and past work that show how the consultancy would address the selected client challenge.
