What it does

CentralOps provides browser-based traceroute, ping, dig, nslookup and whois tools, alongside Domain Dossier and Email Dossier.

In Domain Dossier, enter a domain or IP and select the needed sections: DNS, domain/network Whois, traceroute or service scan. URLs and email addresses can supply the contained domain. Results can combine canonical names and addresses with registration context; privacy rules may hide Whois contacts. The help says records can be cached for up to 24 hours. Traceroute runs from CentralOps’ Dallas server to the entered address or first resolved IP, while the service scan checks six named mail/web/file services and displays responding banners. That selected external view differs from the connection or application state at your own device.

Strengths

  • Several classic diagnostics in one site
