What it does

Chainalysis supplies blockchain screening, transaction monitoring and investigation tools for organizations. Address Screening assesses wallet exposure, KYT monitors transfers, and Reactor maps fund movements and related entities.

Start with the question you need to answer

Address Screening checks a wallet or liquidity pool for direct and indirect exposure. Analysts can change category severity, exposure thresholds and the period under review. The interface keeps a screening history and alerts users when a risk score changes. API users must request another screen themselves; Chainalysis says these re-screens carry no additional charge.

KYT monitors incoming and outgoing transfers. Teams can upload address lists, create custom groups, set behavioral or exposure alerts, and manage the resulting cases in bulk. Dashboards let analysts move from a platform overview into a particular transfer.

Carry an alert into a case

A KYT alert can open in Reactor with its score, entities and context. Reactor traces movements through supported chains, swaps and bridges, then lets investigators adjust the graph layout, add annotations and attach off-chain context such as documents or communication channels.

The products use different analytical scopes. Address Screening describes network-agnostic exposure, while Reactor's investigation exposure is specific to a network and asset. That distinction matters when comparing their results. Chainalysis offers demos and training for teams selecting a deployment.

Strengths

  • KYT alerts can carry their context into Reactor investigations.
  • Screening rules include category, exposure and time-period controls.
  • Reactor graphs can combine transaction paths with annotations and off-chain context.

Watch out for

  • Address Screening API integrations must request re-screening; automatic interface alerts do not replace those calls.

Best for

  • Compliance teams escalating a transaction alert into an investigation
  • Investigators documenting fund movements across supported blockchains
