What it does
ChannelEngine connects merchant systems with marketplaces and other sales channels. It manages listings, inventory and orders centrally, with integrations and operational support for brands expanding their marketplace presence.
ChannelEngine lets you limit the inventory shown on a marketplace, but an allocation does not reserve the remainder for other channels. Allocating 40% to one marketplace leaves the full stock available to channels without their own rules. Configure each destination deliberately.
Set up an allocation
Ask support to enable stock allocations, then open Products > Stock allocations and choose Add. Name the rule, select the marketplace and enter a quantity or percentage. Narrow the product selection with filters if needed, then Save.
Allocations support merchant fulfillment. They cannot run alongside advanced order management or work with marketplace fulfillment services. Connections containing several sales channels, such as Zalando, also have restrictions.
For buffers and caps, use the channel's Stock step. The calculation applies allocation first, buffer second and stock limit last. Open Stock calculation example and enter a product number to inspect the quantity that will be exported.
Budget and access
Pricing combines onboarding, a monthly license and a success fee on incremental marketplace sales above an agreed baseline. License scope considers GMV, SKUs, business units and geography. The success calculation includes connected stores managed as channels, but excludes direct sales outside ChannelEngine. Marketplace seller fees remain separate.
Prepare active marketplace accounts and staff to run them. Users need a ChannelEngine account; administrators invite colleagues through Settings > Users and assign roles.
Strengths
- Product filters let allocation rules target selected catalog items
- A stock calculation example shows how buffers and limits affect the exported quantity
Watch out for
- Stock allocations cannot be combined with advanced order management
- Onboarding, success fees and marketplace charges sit alongside the monthly license
Best for
- Established brands coordinating inventory and sales across several marketplace accounts
