What it does

Enscape adds live rendering to Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Archicad and Vectorworks. Model changes remain connected to the visualisation, with assets, materials and image or panorama output. It is sold through Solo, Premium and Collection subscriptions, with a 14-day trial.

Save an image from a live view

With Enscape running, choose the current Live view or a saved view, then open Render. Select Image, choose the destination folder and filename, and press Render. Upload to Cloud can be switched off when only a local result is needed.

Visual Settings > Output sets the resolution. Custom resolution can follow the SketchUp viewport's aspect ratio. The same tab can export object and material IDs plus a depth channel, giving image editors masks and distance information for later adjustments. Embedded transparency is available for PNG, EXR and TGA output.

Annual subscriptions

Plan Subscription
Solo Annual
Premium Annual
Collection Annual; also adds animation, scene assembly and sustainability tools beyond the core rendering plugin

These are named-user licences, accessed with a Chaos login, and renew automatically unless cancelled. Taxes are extra. Higher tiers add more assets and AI credits.

Windows supports the five listed host applications. The Mac plugin supports SketchUp, Rhino, Archicad and Vectorworks on Apple Silicon; Intel Macs are unsupported. Revit LT cannot load Enscape. The rendering guide also warns that extreme output resolutions can cause Enscape or its host to stop responding.

Strengths

  • Saved views can be rendered individually or as a selected batch.
  • Object, material and depth outputs support targeted image editing.

Watch out for

  • Revit LT and Intel Macs are unsupported.
  • Very high output resolutions can exceed the host's available resources.

Best for

  • Architects reviewing frequent changes in a design model
  • Design teams exporting views and masks for presentation work
