What it does
Chemandy provides radio-frequency and microwave calculators for transmission lines, components, attenuators and AC networks.
Chemandy separates RF configurations and formula references. Its matching-pi workflow takes input/output impedance in ohms and attenuation in dB to find ideal resistors and minimum attenuation for a match. Replace the amber-box resistors with preferred or available values, then recalculate forward/reverse attenuation, impedance, VSWR, reflection coefficient and return loss; mismatch losses can be included. The ideal derivation applies to a matched circuit and warns when the requested constraints cannot achieve one. Enter decimal numbers with a period rather than a comma. These JavaScript calculators are free. The provider notes that its alternative microstrip formulas give different results and does not establish which is most accurate for each PCB type.
