What it does
CHITUBOX prepares mesh models for resin printing with printer profiles, support tools and slicing controls. The current application has free access and paid Advanced or Pro subscriptions for additional features.
Create a project, add the intended printer in the Print Information Panel and load the mesh. Preset resolution and build size should stay matched to the printer; changing them can make it reject the sliced file. Mesh files and saved CHITUBOX projects have separate Open commands.
Auto Support includes model lift height, raft and platform-contact controls. Platform-only mode places support origins on the build plate instead of the model. Manual Support provides control over individual placements. Choose these settings for the model's base and orientation.
Choose Export > Slice, select the slicing mode and use Slice and Save for the printer's layer file. A single configuration can cover the model, or settings can vary by object, height or layer cross-sectional area. Per-object exposure time is not directly supported, although per-object picture grayscale is available.
Saving the project preserves a different kind of file from exporting an STL or OBJ mesh or saving printable layers. The printer profile determines the compatible sliced format.

Strengths
- Automatic supports can be supplemented with manual placements.
- Slicing settings can vary by object, height or cross-sectional area.
- Editable projects, exchange meshes and printer-layer files serve separate stages.
Watch out for
- Preset printer resolution and build size must match the target machine.
- Exposure time cannot be set directly for each object separately.
- The current Windows minimum is 16 GB RAM.
Best for
- Preparing supported resin models for a selected printer
- Controlling slicing parameters while retaining an editable project
