What it does
HENRI presents rare films and curated archive programmes from the Cinémathèque française.
The appeal is the programming context as much as the films. Collections connect early cinema, avant-garde work, filmmakers and partner archives, with dates, running times and explanatory notes. This supports following a small historical thread rather than browsing a general entertainment catalogue. Check the individual entry before planning a viewing: the archive also retains films marked unavailable, so a listed title is not always currently playable.
Strengths
- Curatorial notes and themed archive programmes place rare films in context.
Watch out for
- Some retained archive entries are marked unavailable.
