What it does
Cisco Secure Client combines AnyConnect VPN and ZTNA with optional endpoint-security modules and centralized agent management.
Cisco Secure Client is relevant when an organization wants its remote-access client managed alongside other endpoint agents. Its modular design includes AnyConnect VPN/ZTNA, with related modules for endpoint protection, roaming DNS security and network visibility. Which modules the organization deploys determines what a particular installation does.
That distinction matters off the VPN as well: Cisco describes the Umbrella Roaming module as protecting users outside an active VPN connection. Administrators should map the required remote-access and security modules to their existing deployment and licensing, while end users need their organization's connection configuration.
Strengths
- Modular deployment around existing corporate access
- Centralized management of related endpoint agents
