What it does
Clear Books provides UK-focused accounting with invoicing, bank feeds, reports and accountant access. Free plans cover specified Making Tax Digital income-tax bookkeeping for sole traders and landlords. Broader accounting, automated bank entries and VAT functions are available on paid plans.
The free plans have a defined purpose
Sole Trader Free records income and expenses, includes basic reports and lets you invite an accountant. Property Free and Foreign Property Free cover their stated property scopes. These plans support quarterly income-tax updates under Making Tax Digital, the UK's digital tax-reporting system.
The paid Sole Trader plan adds invoices, bank automation and receipt scanning for GBP 5 per month plus VAT. Sole Trader Plus adds VAT reporting for GBP 15 per month plus VAT.
