What it does

Bank Cler’s digital banking handles account records, payments and Swiss QR bills. You can upload a bill to pay or create a QR invoice to send, then download tax documents from your mailbox. The bank also offers Zak, a separate smartphone banking app with a free account and optional paid plan.

Bills to pay and invoices to send

Upload a received QR bill from your computer or scan it with your phone, then check the imported details before approval. eBill brings participating billers’ invoices directly into banking. Standing orders and secure messages sit alongside these payment tools.

For an invoice you are issuing, use the German menu labels Zahlungen, Neue Zahlung, then QR-Rechnung generieren on a phone or tablet. Add the recipient’s details if needed and download the generated PDF. This works for CHF and EUR invoices, including a club membership payment or shared expense.

Finding tax records

Open Dokumente in the mailbox, choose the filter icon, then set Kategorie to Steuern and apply Filtern. You can save that filter using the three dots beside Gespeicherte Filter and choosing Speichern. Foreign cash delivery is another service: Swiss Bankers posts ordered currency to your home.

A free account through Zak

Zak includes an account, Visa Debit card and savings pots for CHF0 monthly. You can move money between pots and organize shared expenses in the app. Zak Plus costs CHF8 monthly and includes the bank’s withdrawal charges at other Swiss ATMs and abroad; ATM operator charges can still apply. Currency conversion uses Visa’s reference rate plus 2%. Basic Zak withdrawals in CHF at other Swiss ATMs cost CHF2, while foreign ATM withdrawals cost CHF5.

Zak opens from age 12; Plus starts at 16. Its payments are limited to CHF and EUR, with total payment orders, including standing orders, capped at CHF25,000 equivalent weekly. These conditions apply to Zak.

Existing conventional account customers can request an E-Banking agreement if they have never had access. The online request is for people domiciled in Switzerland. Zak account opening happens inside its own app.
