What it does
Cloakmail offers lasting Cloak aliases and temporary Glint addresses. It documents verified forwarding destinations, tracker blocking and a recovery-secret access model for temporary inboxes.
Cloakmail distinguishes lasting Cloaks from temporary Glints. A Cloak can be paused, rotated or forwarded to a verified destination. A Glint normally expires after 60 minutes; its recovery secret provides access only until expiry, after which its messages are gone.
The free account includes three lasting Cloaks, which suit future receipts or password resets better than an expiring Glint. Premium adds allowances and domain features. The operator says content is encrypted at rest and tracking images remain blocked unless allowed, and explicitly distinguishes this from a mailbox encrypted only by keys held on the device.
Strengths
- Lasting aliases support pause, rotation and verified forwarding.
- The temporary-inbox access model is documented.
- Tracking images are blocked by default.
Watch out for
- The operator states that storage encryption is not device-key-only end-to-end encryption.
- Expired temporary inbox messages are removed.
Best for
- People who need controlled aliases and clearly short-lived inboxes
