What it does
cmus plays music in a console with configurable keys, playlists and broad format support.
It fits a listening setup where the terminal is already open and mouse control is inconvenient. Bind a key to a command such as a timed seek, then keep common playback actions close at hand. External tag editors can complement the player rather than being built into its main interface.
Strengths
- Custom keybindings
- Broad decoder support
Best for
- Listeners comfortable with terminal applications
