What it does
COCO is a steady-state process-simulation environment combining flowsheets, thermodynamic properties, unit operations and reaction calculations.
COCO builds steady-state process models from connected CAPE-OPEN streams and unit operations. Composition, temperature, pressure or phase fraction input triggers flash/property updates, so retain the thermodynamic package and method with the flowsheet. TEA distinguishes templates from instantiated property packages: editing one does not automatically update the other. Load Existing and Store As Template explicitly transfer a configuration; documents that rely on external templates need matching user data when moved between computers. A textual flowsheet report records package names, phases, stream connections, configurable properties and solution status. Included ChemSep-LITE is limited to 40 compounds and 300 stages; the full column simulator is separate. The free Windows environment also provides reaction and unit-operation components, with warnings/errors logged beneath the document.
