What it does

CoinCorner supports Bitcoin purchases using funded GBP or EUR balances, recurring bank-funded buys, and Bitcoin sending and receiving. Its payment services include Lightning and the contactless Bolt Card. Business accounts and Vault custody address additional account needs.

From a funded balance to a Bitcoin purchase

Open Exchange in the sidebar, choose Buy and select the currency to spend. Enter either the money amount or the Bitcoin quantity; the other field fills automatically.

The amount fields do not include the buy fee. Read the separate breakdown on the right for the price, fee and net Bitcoin received, then use Buy BTC to submit. CoinCorner also documents buying and selling USDT for GBP or EUR, so it should not be treated as an exclusively Bitcoin trading account.

A standing order can trigger the purchase

While viewing the GBP account, choose Receive → Auto Buy. Use those bank details and the special payment reference, which begins with DCA (dollar-cost averaging), when setting up a standing order at your bank.

The incoming payment buys Bitcoin at the frequency set by that bank instruction. A payment without the auto-buy reference is credited as money but does not trigger a purchase. For a personal CoinCorner account, send from a personal bank account in your own name. A single transfer with the same reference can also trigger an unscheduled buy.

Budget for the payment route

Ordinary buying and selling have a 1% transaction fee, as does auto-buy. GBP Faster Payments and EUR SEPA deposits are free, while debit-card deposits cost 2.5%.

Bitcoin withdrawal costs depend on the route and speed. The schedule offers a free on-chain option with an approximate one-month wait, plus faster paid options. Lightning withdrawals have no fee and a stated £/€1,000 maximum. This makes the withdrawal choice relevant even when the purchase amount is small.

GBP bank withdrawals are free with an eMoney account; without one, the listed charge is £1. EUR bank withdrawals cost €1.

Country and identity requirements

An individual applicant needs legal capacity, supported-country residence and a minimum age of 18. The current country page includes the UK, Isle of Man, Switzerland, New Zealand and selected other territories; check that list before registering.

UK signup adds investor classification, an appropriateness assessment and a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period. Prepare identification, address details, a mobile number and information about how you obtained the money. Additional address documents or a selfie may be requested if automated checks do not pass. Other supported countries use a separate registration process.

Strengths

  • A bank standing order can fund and trigger each recurring Bitcoin purchase
  • The purchase breakdown shows fees and the net Bitcoin amount before submission

Watch out for

  • A free on-chain withdrawal can take about a month; faster options have charges
  • UK applicants must complete the assessment and cooling-off requirements before full access

Best for

  • Eligible UK and other supported-country users combining recurring Bitcoin buys with Lightning payments
