What it does
Coinfinity sells and buys Bitcoin through its app and web portal. Its SmashBuy process fixes the purchase price when you place the order, before the bank transfer arrives. Savings plans, Lightning purchases and an integrated app wallet provide other ways to arrange Bitcoin delivery.
A purchase with the price fixed first
With SmashBuy, Coinfinity fixes the Bitcoin rate when the order is made. Payment follows through SEPA, the European system for euro bank transfers, using an ordinary or instant transfer from your bank. Bitcoin is sent after the payment reaches Coinfinity, so a fixed purchase rate does not mean the coins arrive before you pay.
A normal order starts at €21. Lightning purchases have separate limits of €10 to €250, so check which receiving route you intend to use. The terms also require you to check the wallet destination before submitting: a completed blockchain transfer cannot be redirected.
A plan funded by your bank
Select Create a savings plan on the dashboard, choose the amount and use the confirmation to set up a bank standing order. Include that plan's payment reference.
Each payment received with the reference is converted to Bitcoin and sent to the chosen BTC address. The bank instruction controls the frequency and amount. You may create several named plans, and stopping the bank standing order ends future funding without a separate notice period.
Plan setup has no separate subscription charge. Purchases still incur the usual service and mining fees.
Charges
Coinfinity's purchase fee explanation gives a standard 1.5% service charge plus Bitcoin mining costs, displayed before the purchase. Its terms set a €0.49 minimum service fee per transaction. That minimum replaces a smaller percentage calculation rather than being added to it, and discounts do not reduce the minimum.
Opening an account
Coinfinity's stated audience is Austrian residents, and it does not enter customer relationships with people under 18. Its help centre says applicants living elsewhere may register, but confirm your circumstances with support before arranging funding.
After email registration, open verification from the dashboard. The bank-transfer route uses Verify now → Confirm identity → With ID and bank transfer. Provide an accepted photo ID and a short selfie video, then make the first SEPA-funded Bitcoin purchase, up to €999. Approval and receipt of that transfer complete this route.
An NFC-enabled passport, whose chip can be read by a compatible phone, offers an alternative that can complete verification before the first purchase. In-person verification is also offered at Coinfinity's Graz office.
Strengths
- Named savings plans can use separate bank standing orders and wallet destinations
- An NFC passport can complete identity checks before making the first purchase
Watch out for
- The €0.49 minimum service charge matters for smaller transactions
- Bitcoin is the sole trading asset rather than one choice in a multi-coin catalogue
Best for
- Adult Austrian customers who want bank-funded Bitcoin delivered to a wallet
- Bitcoin buyers comparing a fixed-price order with a recurring bank-payment plan
