What it does
CoinGecko brings cryptocurrency prices, market-cap rankings, exchange comparisons and portfolio tracking into a public website and mobile apps. Free access covers basic research, while Premium subscriptions and developer API plans have separate prices and limits.
A CoinGecko price is an aggregate across eligible trading pairs. It can differ from the quote available for an actual order on one exchange. Its methodology removes price outliers before combining the remaining pairs, while a pair's Trust Score adds context such as liquidity and trading activity. That score is not a guarantee about an exchange or token.
For read-only wallet tracking, open Portfolio, choose + New Portfolio on the web or Create New Portfolio in the app, then Track Wallet Address. Paste a public address to view supported holdings, portfolio value and performance. This workflow does not require a wallet connection, approval or signature.
The free tier tracks two wallet addresses and allows 500 manual portfolio transactions. Premium raises wallet tracking to 100 addresses and removes the manual-transaction limit, as well as advertising. It costs $10 monthly or $99.90 annually, before applicable taxes. Its fourteen-day trial requires payment details and becomes a paid subscription unless cancelled. Manage a web purchase through Manage Subscription; app-store purchases must be managed through the relevant store.
Developer access is a separate decision. The free Demo API requires an account, attribution and a limit of 10,000 calls per month at up to 100 calls per minute. Basic starts at $35 per month with 100,000 monthly call credits and a 300-per-minute limit. Paid plans advertise REST, WebSocket and webhook delivery, with endpoint and historical-data access varying by tier. Coin-level market data and pool-level on-chain data answer different questions, so choose the dataset as well as the delivery method.
