What it does
CoinLedger offers free portfolio tracking and transaction imports, with paid tax-report downloads and separate professional services. It combines exchange, wallet, decentralized-finance and collectible activity in an account created with a valid email address.
Imports use wallet addresses, read-only exchange connections or transaction files. Read-only access lets CoinLedger retrieve records without trading or withdrawing through that connection. Include older acquisitions as well as the tax year being reported: a sale can depend on a purchase made years earlier.
A Missing Cost Basis warning means the imported history does not explain the asset’s acquisition value. Open the MCB Troubleshooting Tab, choose an asset from Select asset and expand its instructions. First compare Calculated Balance with the balances in your wallets and exchanges, then fix missing or duplicate imports.
The next stage checks potential trades, bridges and transfers that were not matched automatically. These appear under the corresponding tab on Transactions. Review uncategorized events and deposits or withdrawals afterward. A transfer between your own wallets needs both sides represented correctly; it should not be relabeled simply to make a warning disappear.
Tracking and report purchases
The free portfolio supports unlimited tracking and connected wallets or exchanges, including an overview of capital gains. A tax-report download is sold for one selected year: Hobbyist is $49 for up to 100 transactions, Investor $99 for up to 1,000, and Pro starts at $199 for 3,000 or more. Further revisions to a purchased year are included.
Report preparation and professional assistance are separate offers. Choose the output for the relevant country and filing process, and resolve unexplained balances before relying on its totals. A report is calculated from the records supplied, so importing a missing account can change the result.
