What it does

Coinmotion offers crypto buying, selling and monthly purchase plans, with Finnish and Swedish bank authentication and local-language support. The app lets you divide a recurring amount among selected cryptocurrencies. Standard trades, monthly purchases and the expanded asset range have different fee rules.

Set up both halves of a monthly plan

In the app, Services → Savings opens the monthly plan. Choose at least €10, select the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th or 28th, then pick the cryptocurrencies and their percentage allocations. The percentages must total 100%.

Next, arrange a recurring payment at your bank using the account and reference details shown in the plan. Use a bank account belonging to you and allow several banking days before the purchase date. Creating the plan alone does not fund it.

Purchases run at midnight on the selected day and appear in your portfolio. Without enough euros, that month's purchase is skipped without a penalty; the plan remains active for the following month.

What it costs

Monthly Savings charges 1% per purchase. Ordinary trading starts at 2%, with volume discounts over 90 days for specified assets. Assets marked with an asterisk belong to the Expansion Service and have a fixed 2% rate under that schedule.

Swedish customers normally pay a fixed 2.9% trading rate, with an exception for those who joined before 19 November 2025. Check the schedule applicable to your account and purchase method. Account ownership and standard storage are free; the optional Vault has its own charge. Euro withdrawals cost €0.90.

Account access and planning tools

Coinmotion's eligibility guide requires legal adulthood and Finnish or Swedish banking credentials. After registration, Verify now on Home leads to bank authentication. Additional country-specific restrictions are handled through customer support, so check those if your residence or citizenship may affect access. Children's accounts are not offered.

The website's historical Bitcoin calculator models earlier monthly purchases. Its displayed balance is hypothetical, and its tax illustration does not account for every personal circumstance.

Strengths

  • Customer support is available in Finnish and Swedish
  • Monthly plans allow a chosen date and percentage allocation across selected coins

Watch out for

  • New accounts require Finnish or Swedish banking credentials and adult eligibility
  • A monthly plan needs separately arranged bank funding to execute

Best for

  • Eligible Nordic bank customers arranging a regular crypto purchase budget
