What it does

Coins.ph combines a Philippine peso wallet with crypto buying, selling and spot trading. You can fund the wallet through supported banks, e-wallets and cash-in partners, then use a quoted conversion or choose orders in Spot Trade. Transactions require account verification, and spot access has country restrictions.

Conversion or Spot Trade?

Coins.ph offers a quick conversion route as well as an order-based Spot Trade screen. Spot gives you control over the pair and order type; the peso wallet also supports local payments and transfers. Bank and e-wallet funding can use InstaPay or PESONet, with the charge depending on the chosen channel.

To use Spot in the Coins app:

  1. Complete ID and selfie verification, then add the funds needed for your chosen pair.
  2. Open Trade, select Spot Trade and choose the pair at the top.
  3. Pick Buy or Sell, then choose Market, Limit or Stop-Limit.
  4. Enter the order details and check them before submitting. A limit sets the trading price; a stop-limit adds a trigger before the limit order is placed.

Spot fees

The entry-level fee tier is 0.10% for a maker order, which adds an order to the book, and 0.15% for a taker order, which matches available orders. Higher tiers use your trading volume over the preceding 30 days. Fees apply to the portion actually filled at execution. Your current tier appears in User Center.

These are Spot fees, so do not apply them to a quick conversion or a bank transfer. Those flows have their own quoted rates and charges.

Who can use it?

Full verification requires age 18 or above and an original, unexpired accepted ID. Foreign customers can submit an international passport or Alien Certificate of Registration; a passport in another language needs an official English translation.

Spot Trade excludes specified countries, including Russia, Pakistan, Iran and Cuba. Check the complete Spot country list against your residence before planning to trade.

Coins.ph states that its e-wallet is not a bank deposit, pays no interest and has no Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation protection. Crypto prices can fall sharply, and a limit or stop order does not guarantee a completed trade.

Strengths

  • Spot offers Market, Limit and Stop-Limit orders in the Coins app
  • Volume-based fee tiers are visible in User Center

Watch out for

  • Spot Trade is unavailable to users covered by its country exclusions
  • Verification rejects expired documents and requires applicants to be at least 18

Best for

  • Eligible Philippine peso users who want local funding and crypto in one account
  • Traders choosing between quick conversion and explicit spot orders
