What it does

CoinSpot provides Australian-dollar crypto purchases, sales, swaps and market trading. Its simple trade routes and Markets service have different fees. An account and identity verification come before funding, and linked payment accounts normally need to be in the same name.

The 0.1% headline applies to particular routes

CoinSpot lists Markets orders and OTC trades at 0.1%. Instant Buy, Sell and Swap cost 1%, as do recurring purchases and the separate take-profit, stop and limit-order tools. Look at the named route before comparing an order: the cheapest headline fee does not apply to every CoinSpot transaction.

PayID, direct bank deposits, cards and PayPal deposits are listed as free. AUD bank withdrawals are also free, while PayPal withdrawals cost 2% and cash deposits cost 2.5%. Sending cryptocurrency elsewhere incurs the flat network charge displayed on the relevant wallet page.

Documents and payment details

Create the account and complete verification before depositing. The accepted-document guide includes Australian driving licences and passports from supported countries. It requires colour JPG or PNG photographs with all four corners visible, rather than scans or screenshots. If neither a licence nor a passport is available, the verification page offers alternative document combinations.

Use a bank or payment account in the account holder's name. CoinSpot offers grouped Bundles as well as individual assets, but grouping holdings does not remove crypto market risk.

Strengths

  • Markets and simple purchase routes have clearly different published fees
  • Several AUD deposit methods and bank withdrawals have no platform charge

Watch out for

  • Instant and recurring transactions cost 1%, above the Markets rate
  • External crypto sends have an additional wallet-specific fee

Best for

  • Australian-dollar users comparing simple crypto purchases with CoinSpot Markets
