What it does
Coinsquare offers crypto trading for Canadian residents through its Trade app, with Wealth and staking services alongside it. It is part of Robinhood, and the current fee schedule distinguishes Robinhood Trading from Coinsquare Trade. Age, phone and identity requirements apply.
Check which trading service the account uses
Coinsquare Trade builds a spread into its quote. The legal schedule describes a normal range of 0.5% to 1.85%, with up to another 2% in adverse or illiquid conditions. Quotes refresh after ten seconds.
The same October 2026 schedule separately lists Robinhood Trading at 0.5% through 31 October 2026 and 0.95% from 1 November 2026. These are distinct pricing routes, so use the service name and cost shown in the order preview rather than assuming all accounts share one rate.
Funding and a first purchase
After signup and identity verification, use Deposit for Interac or bank-wire instructions. For a Bitcoin purchase, open the trading section, select BTC/CAD, choose Buy and enter the amount in CAD or BTC. Review the quote before confirming.
CAD deposits have no platform fee. E-transfer withdrawals are free but limited to one per day and C$2,000 per transaction; direct bank and wire withdrawals cost 1.5%.
Applicants must reside in Canada and be 18 or 19 according to province or territory. The document guide accepts Canadian photo identification and permanent resident cards; residents relying on an international passport should contact support. Crypto holdings can lose value. Coinsquare states that its crypto accounts are not protected by CIPF.
