What it does
Te Papa Collections Online brings together New Zealand art, history, photography, cultural objects and natural-history specimens. Eligible images have free downloads, with reuse governed by the rights statement on each object record.
Tick With downloadable images when searching. On an object record, Download Image opens a panel with rights information and a Copy Credit control. After the short usage survey, select Download JPEG. Records with several photographs require a separate download for each view.
Creative Commons images can be reused under their attached licence. For All Rights Reserved material or permission beyond the supplied terms, use Buy or License. Fees can vary by use and territory, with possible access and research charges.
No Known Copyright Restrictions refers specifically to Te Papa’s knowledge under New Zealand law. The museum requests that images of taonga Māori be used only for research, study, personal or educational purposes.
