What it does
ColorDrop is a free palette-discovery site with trending, recent and popular views. Its text generator creates a shareable palette with hex codes and a PNG download, while the image scanner extracts colours in the browser.
Browse the collection by its discovery views, or enter a mood, object or theme in the generator. Generated palettes receive their own page and join the community collection. This makes the result easy to share, but also means generation is a public contribution to the gallery.
The scanner follows a different route: drop in a photo, screenshot or design, then click a detected colour to copy its hex value. ColorDrop says this scanning happens on the device without uploading or storing the image. That statement applies to the scanner.
The generator is available without login. Liking a palette puts it in the Liked tab for a later visit, while the PNG output provides a visual reference outside the site.
