What it does

Colorion collects colour palettes with keyword, tag and hex searches. Its browser also extracts colours from an uploaded reference image. Palette cards provide copying, sharing and JSON export controls for moving a selection into another design workflow.

A starting colour can narrow a large gallery. Search its hex value, or choose tags such as earth, muted or ocean to explore a mood. The image panel offers another route when a photograph already defines the direction.

Use a card’s Copy control for its colours or Export JSON for structured data. Individual palette links let collaborators refer to the same selection.

Colorion permits personal and commercial use of palettes unless an individual item says otherwise. Its terms ask for attribution when reasonable and prohibit reselling palettes unchanged.

Strengths

  • Hex search connects an existing colour to palette ideas
  • Image extraction and curated browsing offer different starting points
  • JSON export supports a structured handoff

Watch out for

  • Palettes cannot be resold unchanged under the site terms

Best for

  • Collecting colour directions for a design brief
  • Passing selected palette values into a development workflow
