What it does
Color.review shows a foreground and background together with their contrast ratio and text-size ratings. Its colour controls include hex, RGB, HSL and CMYK values.
Enter the two colours, then use Flip to exchange their roles. The preview separates ordinary text from headlines, with markers at contrast ratios of 3, 4.5 and 7. A direct link retains the chosen pair for sharing.
For WCAG AA, the site explains a 4.5:1 threshold for ordinary text and 3:1 for large text. Its large-text definition starts at 18-point regular or 14-point bold. AAA requires 7:1 for ordinary text and 4.5:1 for large text. Choose the rating that matches the actual text size.
The page advertises a future app with swatches and an eyedropper through an interest form; those are separate from the current web checker.
Strengths
- A shareable link keeps the foreground and background values together.
Watch out for
- The advertised app features are not part of the current web tool.
Best for
- Checking a specific text colour against its intended surface
