What it does

CommentGuard moderates Facebook and Instagram comments and handles messages in shared inboxes. A connected Facebook login grants access to the pages being managed. Its seven-day trial needs no card; continuing moderation requires a paid plan.

Connect through Login with Facebook using a profile with access to the relevant pages. Grant the requested permissions, select any Instagram Business accounts in Meta's flow, then use Add new page. For Instagram, add both the Business account and its linked Facebook page. CommentGuard starts with newly received comments; it does not process those from before the connection.

Choose automatic hiding or deletion rules for unwanted links, keywords and other selected content, or hold all new comments for review and unhide those you approve. Draft replies can be edited before sending. Saved responses and automated replies are separate options, while team roles limit which pages colleagues can manage.

Budget for every incoming comment, including one left visible and unanswered. Direct messages do not consume the comment allowance. Plans include the same features, unlimited connected pages and team members:

Monthly plan USD per month Incoming comments per month
Starter $29 5,000
Growth $49 10,000
Pro $99 25,000
Elite $199 50,000

Annual billing and larger comment allowances are also available. The trial covers 1,000 comments. When it expires, moderation stops without an automatic charge; select a paid subscription to keep managing comments.

Strengths

  • Review queues and editable drafts can be combined with selected automation
  • Team permissions can restrict colleagues to particular pages

Watch out for

  • Comments left untouched still count toward the monthly allowance
  • Only comments received after a page is connected are processed

Best for

  • Teams managing Facebook and Instagram post or ad comments
