What it does

Connary Fagen’s catalog spans text, display, monospaced and international-script families. It includes a pairing guide, editable family specimens and technical help for OpenType features and webfonts.

The pairing guide shows what a combination is intended to do. Greycliff with Novaletra Serif demonstrates a sans headline over serif body text; other examples use several weights within one family or pair a detailed headline with quieter copy. Its illustrated spacing and hierarchy examples make the guide useful beyond choosing two names.

Individual family pages add more precise checks. Cartograph has eight weights with italics, code ligatures and a proportional alternate set accessed through OpenType. Change the style and size, inspect its character and feature lists, then choose a package or individual styles. The catalog labels script support by family, so a related design does not automatically provide the same languages.

Purchase options distinguish desktop users from website pageviews and app titles. Web and app licences are yearly subscriptions that renew automatically. Desktop use covers static artwork, while uploading the font files to Canva, Figma or a shared drive requires additional permission. Internal trial files are available by contacting the foundry. The help page also explains stylistic sets and separate webfont declarations for each weight.

Strengths

  • The pairing guide demonstrates hierarchy, spacing and contrasting type roles.
  • Family pages show scripts, characters and typographic features.
  • Purchase controls separate styles from the required usage licence.

Watch out for

  • Web and app licences renew annually unless cancelled.
  • Standard desktop coverage excludes uploading files to shared or hosted services.
  • Language and feature coverage differs between families.

Best for

  • Editorial font pairing
  • Teams selecting multilingual retail families
  • Designers comparing monospaced type with code ligatures
