What it does
Tanaguru Contrast-Finder suggests alternatives to a foreground or background colour. You set the required contrast and choose which side of the pair may change.
Enter both colours as hexadecimal values or red, green and blue channel values. Set the Minimum ratio, then select whether to edit the foreground or background.
The final choice controls the search: request valid colours close to the original, or ask for a wider range. This suits a design with one fixed colour, such as a brand background whose text needs a clearer alternative.
The project publishes its application under the GNU Affero General Public License. That covers the software; using its suggestions still requires choosing the right contrast target for the actual text or interface element.
Strengths
- The fixed side of the colour pair can remain unchanged during the search.
Best for
- Finding a nearby alternative when one brand colour is fixed
