What it does
Converting Colors combines colour-model conversion with harmonies, shades, previews and CSS examples. Its Color Bucket collects choices for palette downloads, while related tools handle contrast, gradients and colour extraction. Free use has capacity limits; paid memberships remove ads, with higher conversion and export limits on Pro.
Label an ambiguous input with its model. A bare hue-and-percentage triplet is assumed to be HSL; wrapping it as HSV(...) makes the intended interpretation explicit. The colour page then connects the converted values to variations and application examples.
The Color Bucket exports GIMP palettes, Adobe ASE swatch files and Tailwind CSS palettes. It also supplies a matrix of contrast comparisons.
Free and membership limits
| Access | Bucket capacity | Values per mass conversion | Colours per PDF |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 10 | 10 | 5 |
| Ad Free | 10 | 10 | 5 |
| Pro | 20 | 1,000 | 25 |
Both memberships remove ads. Pro also adds nearest-colour matching across named colour lists. Activation uses a licence key stored in browser cookies; another browser or cleared cookies requires entering it again.
The Website Color Extractor accepts public HTTPS pages or local HTML, CSS and image files. Its website mode counts colour occurrences in code, not screen area, and misses colours added later by JavaScript. Filtered results export as CSS variables, JSON or SVG swatches.
Strengths
- Model-prefixed inputs resolve ambiguous colour notation.
- Palette downloads include formats for both design applications and code.
Watch out for
- Unlabelled ambiguous values can be interpreted as the wrong colour model.
- The website extractor cannot analyse pages that require login.
- Membership activation must be repeated after clearing cookies or changing browser.
Best for
- Designers and developers preparing reusable colour values and palettes.
